Robert MacNeil, PT

Rob is a registered Physiotherapist who completed his Bachelors of Physiotherapy in 2007 at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Prior to his Physiotherapy education, Rob graduated from St Francis Xavier University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. The choice to pursue physiotherapy was multifactorial. A strong desire to help people, a fascination of the human body, and a family background in healthcare all helped shape his decision. In the end, it was the opportunity to help people through hands on healing, exercise, and motivation that sealed the deal. Six years post-graduation was spent in Newfoundland in varying roles of practice. Rob has had the opportunity to work in private, acute, and long term care settings. He has been a sole charge Physiotherapist at a multidiscipline private clinic seeing a variety of clients of varying age. As well, he has worked in the acute hospital setting and has treated various neurological, cardiorespiratory, orthopedic, and pediatric clients. Treatment is centered on not just the obvious presenting symptom of an injury but also the potential underlying culprit. Pinpointing the source of the ailment is of the utmost importance to prevent reoccurrence. Rob strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to best overcome and prevent disease. Rob maintains an active lifestyle that involves running, biking, weight training, cross country skiing and simply whatever is the adventure of the day. He believes in “practicing what you preach” and attempts to be a role model and encourage a healthy lifestyle for clients who he is working. Everyone has the ability to help themselves and a helping hand from someone with the concern and knowledge is often all that is needed.
