Did You Know March 21, 2011 – Chiropractic and Women’s Health
Chiropractic works on the basis of removing joint dysfunction and nerve disturbance.
What does this mean? – Abnormal motion of the vertebrae or any other joint can interfere with the proper transmission of messages from your brain to your body and back again. This is called a subluxation. Chiropractors remove subluxations by giving adjustments.

There are 3 stresses that can cause subluxations.

1. Physical Stress – trauma, posture, the birth process, work habits, etc.
2. Chemical Stress – What you eat, drink and breathe.
3. Emotional Stress – Family, work, money stress, etc.

The body regulates and heals itself. Does your body need help to digest food, regulate your heart rate, and keep a constant body temperature?

If the spinal column interferes with the nervous system, it will interfere with the body’s ability to
regulate and heal itself. So, how does Chiropractic relate to women?

Half the people in the world have a uterus and ovaries. We make babies, we feed them with our own bodies, and we take care of our families. Along with the mothering instinct come a variety of challenges because of the hormones that course through our blood.
Women can experience pre-menstrual syndrome, cramping, back pain while pregnant (and afterwards!), difficulties becoming pregnant, breast cysts or cancer, endometriosis, menopause, osteoporosis… the list is endless, and it concerns half of the world’s population.

Many difficulties that women experience can be helped through Chiropractic. Adjustments help the nerves to work more efficiently, and many symptoms clear up because the brain is better able to get information to the rest of the body, especially the reproductive organs. With the ovaries and pituitary gland functioning better, hormone imbalances can be regulated, which help to decrease moodiness.

Chiropractic adjustments help to balance the physical, emotional and chemical imbalances that women may experience from time to time.
