Dr. Taylor grew up in Thunder Bay, completing her Biology degree at Lakehead University. For the following year, she explored health care in India, also working and completing her yoga teacher training at the Sivananda Academy. She moved close to the Rocky Mountains to conduct her Masters research in muscle aging and physiology, and then completed a year of study and research in medical neuroscience, both at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Taylor enrolled at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto where she learned in depth about the natural, holistic lifestyle she was already living. During the four year program, she acquired training in several modalities, attended conferences and workshops in India, the United States and within Canada.
Her post-graduate work includes training and certification in Classical and Contemporary Homeopathy, Parenteral (IV) Therapies, Cosmetic (facial rejuvenation) Acupuncture and Applied Kinesiology. She investigated integrative cancer care at both the Medicore clinic in Toronto and at one of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, Dr. Taylor opened a private practice in Thunder Bay serving the Northwestern Ontario community. During this time, her postgraduate training took her to New York to train with an internist, focusing on Lyme and other tick borne diseases.
In conjunction with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and the Clinical Psychology department at Lakehead University, she is presently conducting research for children ages 8-14 diagnosed with ADHD.
She recently joined the Optimum Wellness Centres, impressed by the integrative team approach to wellness “medicine is much more effective when we work together as a team; patient-centred care is the way I was trained, and the way that I practice…” Dr. Taylor is accepting new patients, call Optimum Wellness to schedule an appointment.
