Chiropractic and Chronic Fatigue
Chiropractic works on the basis of removing joint dysfunction and nerve disturbance.
What does this mean? – Abnormal motion of the vertebrae or any other joint can interfere with the
proper transmission of messages from your brain to your body and back again. This is called a
subluxation. Chiropractors remove subluxations by giving adjustments.
There are 3 stresses that can cause subluxations:
1. Physical stress – trauma, posture, the birth process, work habits, etc.
2. Chemical stress – what you eat, drink, and breathe.
3. Emotional stress – family, work, money, stress, etc.
The body regulates and heals itself. Does your body need help to digest food, regulate your heart rate,
and keep a constant body temperature?
If the spinal column interferes with the nervous system, it will interfere with the body’s ability to
regulate and heal itself. So, how does Chiropractic relate to chronic fatigue?
The true cause of chronic fatigue is unknown. Possible theories about chronic fatigue are that it is
related to: a virus, the Hepatitis B vaccine, lifestyle, stress and diet.
If your body is functioning at it maximum capacity, it will be less susceptible to the illness and disease
that are always present in our environment.
If your spine and nervous system is at its maximum potential, your body will be stronger and healthier.
Sometimes, we make the comparison that a fatigued body is like a care that needs a tune-up. It runs,
but it is slow to start and it doesn’t get good gas mileage.
Tune-ups to your body are accomplished through Chiropractic adjustments.
